Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva says that he would be pleased if Brazilian team-mate Ronaldinho joined him at Anfield.
Ronaldinho has been linked with a move away from AC Milan in January, with Liverpool and clubs from Brazil and the MLS interested in securing his services and, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, the playmaker looks like he may move on.
The former World Player of the Year has slipped down the pecking order at the San Siro, with team-mate Robinho preferred of late, and Liverpool's Lucas thinks he would fit in well at Anfield.
"I am not aware of anything in terms of Ronaldinho signing but I would be very happy if this was to happen," he told Globoesporte.
"We started a friendship when we played in the Olympics and for Brazil. It would be nice to play with him at Liverpool. Everyone knows Ronaldinho and they know what he can do."
However, although Ronaldinho was whistled by Milan fans during the team's 2-0 Champions League defeat to Ajax on Wednesday, he suggested he wants to stay at San Siro.
"I am happy because I had the chance to play an entire game," he told Milan Channel after the defeat. "I have a lot of desire to help the team do well.
"I am calm about staying at Milan. I am convinced about being able to do well. I have the utmost respect for my team-mates, who are going through a wonderful moment.
"The team is winning and I have nothing to say about that. I am working towards playing more. I train for this reason."
