Two-goal Peter Odemwingie ended West Brom's five game losing streak with a late winner against Blackpool at The Hawthorns.
David Vaughan had put Blackpool in front but Albion replied through Odemwingie and James Morrison only for Gary Taylor-Fletcher to level for the Seasiders. But then Odemwingie struck with three minutes remaining to move Albion away from the relegation zone.
Blackpool, fresh from their mid-week triumph over Liverpool, played with their customary freedom with the in-demand Charlie Adam in fine form in midfield. But they were left to rue two missed chances by the normally deadly DJ Campbell.
The Baggies were unsurprisingly devoid of confidence in the first half after their recent poor run. But they were dragged up off the floor by the driving force in midfield of Youssouf Mulumbu.

Fulham 3-0 West Bromwich
Scott Carson made another high-profile mistake to set Fulham on course for a 3-0 victory that lifted them out of the Barclays Premier League relegation zone.
Carson, whose blunder against Croatia contributed to England failing to qualify for Euro 2008, got both hands to Simon Davies' 30-yard drive on the brink of half-time but could only deflect the ball into his own net.
West Brom's new-look defence was then exposed after the break as Fulham cruised to a first home win in six attempts with headed goals from Clint Dempsey and Brede Hangeland.
While Fulham climbed above West Brom into 13th place to relieve some of the pressure on manager Mark Hughes, the Baggies' slump continued.
A fifth consecutive defeat represented their worst run in six years and having been eighth before Christmas they now hover just two points above the relegation zone.

Manchester United 2-1 West Bromwich Albion
Javier Hernandez once again became Manchester United's head-boy to seal a controversial victory over West Brom.
The little Mexican's eighth goal of the season, 15 minutes from time, sealed a second Premier League away win and kept United top of the table.
Yet it barely told the story of a controversial match, the majority of which the hosts will forever be convinced United should have played with 10 men.
In addition, Wayne Rooney ended his nine-month wait for a goal in open play, James Morrison levelled with a brilliant volley and Peter Odemwingie missed a second-half penalty after Gary Neville had inexplicably escaped conceding one before the break.

Blackburn 3-1 West Brom
Nikola Kalinic scored twice and was sent off as Blackburn won for the first time under new manager Steve Kean - 3-1 at West Brom.
Kalinic twice gave Rovers the lead at The Hawthorns before being dismissed for a poor challenge on Paul Scharner shortly after Mame Biram Diouf added a third.
The Baggies had been level midway through an eventful Barclays Premier League encounter after Jerome Thomas cancelled out Kalinic's first goal, but later on their misery was compounded when Gabriel Tamas was also sent off.
Until his red card, the afternoon had looked like being one of Kalinic's best in a Rovers shirt since being signed by Sam Allardyce last year.

Bolton 2-0 West Brom
Goals from Matt Taylor and Johan Elmander gave Bolton a Boxing Day victory over a West Brom side who were made to pay for failing to take their chances.
The Baggies had by far the better of the chances in both halves, with Peter Odemwingie squandering three great opportunities and Chris Brunt heading against a post.
But they simply could not find the net and, after Taylor gave Wanderers the lead with his first goal of the season in the 40th minute, Elmander made the points safe four minutes from time.
Defences were certainly on top in the early stages and it took until the 16th minute for the first shot of the match, Graham Dorrans firing straight at Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Aston Villa 2-1 West Bromwixh Albion
Stewart Downing and Emile Heskey provided a much-needed lift for Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier as their goals earned victory over derby rivals West Brom at Villa Park.
Downing struck his sixth goal of the campaign after 25 minutes and fit-again Heskey wrapped up the points 10 minutes from time before a late consolation from Paul Scharner.
Victory ended a run of three successive Premier League defeats and eased Villa's relegation fears.
It was also a boost for Houllier, who had come in for criticism from Villa fans for his behaviour when returning to Liverpool for Monday's clash.
He was warmly applauded by the Holte End when making his way to the dug-out and then saw Downing and Heskey ensure Villa remain unbeaten against Albion since 1985.

West Brom 3-1 Newcastle
West Brom climbed into the top half of the Premier League as two-goal Peter Odemwingie and Somen Tchoyi earned them a 3-1 win over Newcastle.
Tchoyi's first goal at the Hawthorns gave the Baggies a deserved half-time lead after they dominated the opening 45 minutes.
Then Odemwingie wrapped up the points with his fifth goal of the campaign and another in the closing seconds to take his side past the 20-point mark before Peter Lovenkrands' last-gasp reply.
It sealed back to back league wins for Roberto Di Matteo's side after a slump in fortunes in November and their first over the Geordies in 18 attempts.

Ispwich Town spoils the party for West Brom 1-0
Under-fire Roy Keane guided npower Championship side Ipswich into the semi-finals of the Carling Cup with a 1-0 win over top-flight West Brom in front of only a 11,300 crowd at Portman Road.
The former Manchester United midfielder has endured a difficult relationship with Town supporters following a dire run of form which saw them slip to 16th in the npower Championship following Sunday's 4-1 defeat to East Anglia rivals Norwich.
However, Keane's battling team - hit by injuries and unavailable loan players - secured their place in the last four through a second-half penalty from Grant Leadbitter.

West Bromwich 4-1 Everton
West Brom struck twice in each half to end their Premier League slump with a convincing 4-1 win in an eventful encounter at Everton.
Paul Scharner and Chris Brunt put the Baggies into a 2-0 lead at Goodison Park before Everton's top goalscorer Tim Cahill pulled one back.
Everton's hopes of a fightback were dashed as Mikel Arteta was sent off for stamping and Somen Tchoyi and Youssouf Mulumbu, with aid of a Sylvain Distin deflection, finished them off.
Remarkably Mulumbu was then sent off himself for two bookings, the first for celebrating in the crowd and then for a bad tackle on Steven Pienaar.

West Bromwich Albion 0 - 3 Stoke City
Stoke netted three times in the second half at West Brom to extend their winning run in the Premier League.
Matthew Etherington's penalty put the visitors 1-0 up in the 55th minute after referee Chris Foy adjudged Scott Carson to have fouled Kenwyne Jones.
Substitute Jon Walters converted another spot-kick with five minutes of normal time remaining and then bagged his second at the death to make it three wins out of three for the Potters.
That takes Tony Pulis' side, only recently hovering around the relegation places, up to eighth in the table as they built on victories over Birmingham and Liverpool.

Wigan Athletic 1 - 0 West Bromwich Albion
Victor Moses stepped off the bench to help secure Wigan's first win in six Premier League games and ease their relegation nerves in the process, the 19-year-old showed remarkable maturity in front of goal to steer his effort beyond West Brom goalkeeper Scott Carson and into the corner.
Moses had good cause for celebration in the 70th minute as it was his first league goal this season, although he found the target in the Carling Cup victory against Hartlepool.
It was a cool finish by the midfielder, who arrived from Crystal Palace at the end of January transfer window for £2.5 million.

West Ham were once again left frustrated and remain bottom of the Premier League as they were held to a 2-2 draw by West Brom at Upton Park.
Peter Odemwingie had put the Baggies in front from the penalty spot in the 38th minute.
However, Scott Parker smashed in a 25-yard effort to level before the break and Frederic Piquionne put the Hammers ahead from the spot at the start of the second half - only for Pablo Ibanez to deny Avram Grant's men a much-needed first league win since September 25.

West Bromwich Albion 0 - 2 Manchester City
Mario Balotelli netted twice before being sent off as Manchester City secured a 2-0 win at West Brom to ease the pressure on their manager Roberto Mancini.
Balotelli opened the scoring in the first half having combined with City skipper Carlos Tevez, who was back in the team following his two-match injury lay-off.
The Italian striker then converted David Silva's cross soon after to give the visitors - defeated in their last three matches - a two goal advantage.

Blackpool 2 - 1 West Bromwich Albion
Blackpool claimed their first home Premier League win with a 2-1 victory over promoted rivals West Brom, who were reduced to nine men in the opening half hour.
Charlie Adam scored from the penalty spot after Baggies defender Pablo Ibanez was harshly sent off as the last man after just 11 minutes.
The away side's task became even harder when Gonzalo Jara also saw red after 29 minutes, following a ludicrous two-footed challenge on Luke Varney, who scored his side's second on the hour mark.
It proved the decisive strike as Yousouf Mulumbu pulled a goal back and set up a nervy final five minutes during which Paul Scharner and Steven Reid both almost nicked what would have been a barely believable point for the visitors.
