He has made a name for himself in the most recent World Cup willing his Japanese counterparts into the knockout stages with a display of class football. He is a world class talent and only being 24, has several years of great football ahead of him.
The question is: What team would he best fit in with in the EPL?
- Chelsea-- Too many quality midfielders. His growth could be stunted by sporadic playing time.
- Manchester United-- This is a possiblilty with age creeping up on the midfielder for the Red Devils. He would struggle to get constant playing time with the midfielders currently on the squad.
- Arsenal-- Arsenal is stacked with midfielders ranging from Fabregas to Arshavin to Song to Wilshere. No spot on the roster for him.
- Manchester City-- If he wants to beat out Barry, De Jong, Etuhu, David Silvia, Yaya Toure, both Johnsons and Milner. Too much quality for playing opportuinities.
- Tottenham-- This could be a realistic possibility with Bale as the only inked in starter in the midfield. The rest are injured constantly, getting older, or not fit to play 90 minutes a game. But between Modric, Jenas, Van Der Vaart, and Bale; it will be difficult to crack the starting XI.
- Liverpool-- Now that the ownership is beginning to look more stable, this could be the ending spot for Honda. They have the opportunity for playing time, an ownership group that may be willing to overpay somewhat to make up for the Hick/Gillet era, and Liverpool is a "name" squad.
