Only three teams have won the European cup in the 54 years of competition.  They account for 9 of the 54 titles or 16.7% of the overall winners.  Liverpool has 5 UEFA Cups only trailing Real Madrid and A.C. Milan.

Manchester United: 1968, 1999, 2008.

• With 18 league titles for the Red Devils, they have only been able to secure the European Cup three times.  The won a 4-1 decision over Benfica in 1968, a 2-1 decision over Bayern Munuch in 1999, and a thrilling 1-1 (6-5 pen.) victory over rival Chelsea in 2008.
