Wigan boss annoyed at international break

While teams like Arsenal and Tottenham and Liverpool are excited to see the international break give them the chance to rest tired players (Gareth Bale anyone?) and get injured players back with time to regain form, Wigan's Roberto Martinez is bemoaning the fact.

In the final match before international break, Wigan won 2-0 in what could be considered their best performance of the season defeating Wolverhampton.  They are up to 14th position in the table a mere 2 points from relegation but have finally started to look like a team that could make it to next year.

The most difficult part for Martinez is the staggering -9 goal differential staring them in the face 7 games into the season.  With their next 6 matches versus squads in the same vicinity as Wigan, the post international break is the make or break stretch of the season.

Time will only tell if Wigan can fight relegation or it is in the cards for Wigan to regroup in the Championship next season.
