Transfer News 11/19/2011 via ESPN

07.10: First up, Marseille defender Taye Taiwo is being tracked by Spurs and Everton and would cost around £5 million.

07.14: A round-up of what's in the papers for you:

The Sun: Bolton are set to seal the signing of David Wheater from Middlesbrough for around £2.5 million. Blackpool want to bring in Peterbrough's George Boyd as Charlie Adam's replacement. Barnsley winger Adam Hammill will join Wolves for £500k and get a £20k per week deal.

The Daily Mail: Blackburn want Argentine Mauro Formica from Newell's Old Boys and will snap him up for £3m. The midfielder was being linked to Galatasaray. Sunderland want Monaco striker Dieumerci Mbokani to replace Darren Bent and could get a cheap deal by landing him on loan. Fulham want to sign Man City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips on loan before the weekend. West Ham striker Benni McCarthy is holding talks with QPR over a possible move.

Daily Mirror: Arsenal want Chris Samba as their top transfer target this month. Chelsea are eyeing a deal for Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic, who would cost around £5m. QPR are interested in bringing in Wayne Routledge from Newcastle and Blackpool are keen to take Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback on loan.

07.26: Chelsea have upped their bid for Benfica defender David Luiz to £21 million apparently. Not sure they will take less than £25 million, but we'll see. Read all about him here.

07.43: Where do West Ham turn in their hour of need? Well, according to the Daily Telegraph they want to sign Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, but have been prevented from making a bid by his £15 million price tag.

07.52: Ryan Babel's agent has revealed his client's preference for Ajax. Winnie Haatrecht said in the Sun: ''Hoffenheim will only be an option if Ryan isn't allowed to go on loan to Ajax or they do not want him.''

08.03: Fulham are now favourites for Southampton's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after Arsenal refused to let youngster rejoin Saints on loan.

9.23 Comedy for Chelsea fans here. Claudio Pizarro, he of the acceleration of an HGV, is now linked with Real Madrid, according to newspaper Generacion. Well, Mourinho did sign him, we think, which begs the question why. Jose didn't stay much beyond his July 2007 transfer to Chelsea so perhaps didn't see him at his one-paced peak.

9.43 The Journal, a Newcastle paper, has Shaun Wright-Phillips heading Toon-side, with wages not a problem, they say.

9.49 David Wheater was once highly rated by many but has been a victim of Middlesbrough's decline. He looks in line for a move to Bolton and back to the Premier League but that move will likely see many wonder about the future of Gary Cahill.

10.05 Nicklas Bendtner is not interested in going to West Ham, according to his dad, also his agent. "That's not interesting," Thomas Bendtner told Ekstrabladet. "If Arsenal want to sell and have set a price, then that's up to them. That's nothing that we have been involved in. I can only say that this is nothing of interest to us." Bendtner watched West Ham from the sidelines as an unused sub last week and can have been none too impressed. Story here.

10.20 Sebastian Larsson is a player linked with several clubs, and Blackburn is the latest, according to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. He's no Ronaldinho or Beckham, but he does have to compete with David Bentley nowadays.

11.44 Demba Ba has been one of the transfer window's leading lights. He's already failed a medical at Stoke City, and West Ham are circling too. Stoke are willing to take hin on loan but Hoffenheim want the money to fund their purchase of Ryan Babel. Confused? Read our story here.

12.50 Just as it seemed certain Cardiff (and England!) striker Jay Bothroyd would sign a pre-contract agreement with Newcastle United, it is now being suggested that Sunderland could try and usurp their neighbours as a replacement for Darren Bent.

13.01 Both Everton and Liverpool are being linked with Wolves midfielder Matt Jarvis, who is one of few players from Molineux that would interest other Premier League clubs.

13.12 Shaun Wright-Phillips is attracting the attention of Fulham and Newcastle, and his agent has revealed that the Manchester City winger is not short of options. "My understanding is that Fulham have made an enquiry for Shaun, as have Newcastle," Wayne Lindsay said. "There are two other clubs also showing an interest, one loan and one permanent. There is also interest from a French club, but these are all options Shaun will have to consider."

13.32 Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic looks set to be rewarded for his performances this season with a new deal. Both AC Milan and Juventus are said to be monitoring the situation forcing Chelsea to act before he moves into the final year of his current contract.

13.47 It seems Stéphane Sessegnon is effectively going on strike to force a move to Sunderland by refusing to train with PSG. “The most important thing is that Stephane returns to the group again. He's part of the family and we want him to stay," said club president Robin Leproux.

14.54 Could Liverpool be priced out of the market for Luis Suarez? If so, it's rumoured they could turn to Sevilla forward Alvaro Negredo - a player who turned down Hull City in the summer of 2009.

15.05 Chelsea are stepping up their bid for Benfica centre-back David Luiz, but are also looking at Danish star Simon Kjaer as a back-up if they cannot persuade the Brazilian to move.

15.16 Aston Villa have insisted they did nothing wrong in their move for Darren Bent after Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn seemed to suggest there was something fishy about it.

15.49 More on Lukaku from our man in Belgium: "According to French magazine Sport/Foot, Anderlecht's highly rated teenager, Romelu Lukaku, will move to Manchester City at the end of the current season. Sport/Foot quote a "reliable source" who says the player's agents will travel to Manchester today to finalise contract talks, which have supposedly taken 15 days. Lukaku's manager formally denies the rumour. Should the move materialise, Lukaku, a hot favourite to win Belgium's Golden Boot award this evening, would link up with fellow Belgians Dedryck Boyata and Vincent Kompany."

16.57 Does anyone want him? Robbie Keane isn't wanted by Sunderland either. Story here.

17.00 Reports in Ghana suggest Sulley Muntari is wanted by Sunderland and Everton.

18.45: The Express & Star says Wolves are closing in on the deal for Barnsley winger Adam Hammill.

19.06 Chelsea have had a third bid for Benfica defender David Luiz rejected, with the Portuguese club understood to be holding out for £25 million for the 23-year-old. Read all about that transfer battle here.
